Bird watching is a recreational hobby that is increasing gradually; it appears many people are becoming more interested in our feathered friends. When studying birds a person should stand in hides or an observation tower so the bird is not disturbed, this will also improve your view. It is important to understand bird etiquette when bird watching to respect a bird’s habitat as it is vital they are not disturbed, as a bird watcher it is essential to build trust with the birds. Try to limit the use of flash photography and ensure consideration of their nest. There are approximately 10,000 species of birds on the planet, so when looking for birds, people should be prepared with the leading binoculars or Night Vision binoculars so when you do spot a rare and beautiful bird, it is possible to see it with precision and clarity.

Birds are a small group of species, who have many different roles and habitats, birds separate from one and other by their colour, their song and flight pattern. Birdwatchers are provided with the challenge of witnessing every type of bird, however, out of the 10,000 birds witnessed it is reported that only a total of 7,000 birds have been witnessed by one birdwatcher. Bird watching can also be a relaxing process for the birdwatcher as watching natural occurrences can be seen as calming. Bird watching can also be shared with companions as it is a chance to share an interest or hobby with a likeminded person. The only thing required when bird watching are great observational skills and a curious nature.  Bird watching can be observed locally or can send people round the world travelling to catch a glimpse of one of the many types of bird.

Many bird watchers find the use of bird watching binoculars or night vision devices helps them during their observational activity, this enhancing their view and allowing birdwatchers to witness birds from a distance.
